About TOPOS
During its sixteen years of existence magazine TOPOS has developed into a medium with depth and a platform for the exchange of ideas. The magazine is created by students and published three times a year. It strives to be an intermediary between the university, students and professionals. By anchoring on current affairs, TOPOS is presented both as a practical and as an academic magazine. Every issue bears a central theme chosen after recent developments and trends in the education and practices of landscape architecture, planning and human geography. In addition TOPOS consists of a number of rubrics, like Caperton (news), MSc thesises, book reviews, and Forum. At present the magazine is mostly in Dutch.
TOPOS for who?
With an edition of 550 copies per issue TOPOS reaches a broad audience in the fields of landscape architecture and planning. Among staff and students of landscape architecture, spatial planning, and socio-spatial analysis at Wageningen University, there is free distribution. On top of that there is a growing number of external subscribers.
Writing an article for TOPOS
TOPOS invites everyone willing to write an article to contact the editors; students, researchers, policy-makers, designers, planners, architects, et cetera. An article may be written conforming the theme or in response to current affairs. For the rubrics we especially would like to invite our students to make a contribution. An article may be written in Dutch or in English. If you want to write an article, contact the editors first, so we can establish an agreement over the amount of words, content, et cetera.
Subscriptions
Subscribing to TOPOS will cost € 15,00 a year, for which you will receive three issues. It is not possible to subscribe to less than three issues. If your subscriptions starts halfway through the year, you will pay for and receive the older issues. Subscriptions run from January to December. To cancel your subscription, write us or send an e-mail before January. Staff and students of Landscape Architecture, Spatial Planning, and Socio-spatial Analysis at Wageningen University, need not subscribe to TOPOS. They are entitled to a free copy through the membership of study association Genius Loci. To purchase a single issue, you can contact us by letter or e-mail. A single issue will cost € 7,00.
Advertizing
Advertizing in TOPOS is possible. You will reach mostly students but also a growing number of academics and professionals. Advertizing can be done incidentally or in for periods of one year (three issues). More information about advertizing can be found at study association Genius Loci: e-mail st.genius@wur.nl.
Join TOPOS
Are you a student of landscape architecture, spatial planning, and socio-spatial analysis, and member of study association Genius Loci, and do you want to see your work result in a magazine? Broaden your horizon at TOPOS. New members are welcome all the time. The only thing you need is some enthusiasm and interest in our field of knowledge or practice. You can improve your writing, editing or lay-outing skills. It is not required that you are an experienced writer.
